The President's Award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine. This award, given by the past presidents of WADEM, is accompanied an engraved plaque and recognition at the Closing Ceremony of World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WCDEM).
Dr. Per Kulling (pictured to the right) was presented with the President's Award at the 17th World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine in Beijing, China in 2011. Dr. Kulling was recognized for his many years of service to WADEM as a member of the Board of Directors and the organization's Chief Financial Officer.
Receipients of the President's Awards at the 16th World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine in 2009 were Andrew Bacon, Joost Bierens, Claude de Ville de Goyet, and Andrew Marsden.
The winners of the President's Awards in at the 15th World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine in 2007 were Elaine Daily, Wolfgang Dick, and Muneo Ohta.
